Sustainability @ Spaxel
By prioritizing energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmentally responsible practices, Spaxel’s sustainability initiatives reduce carbon emissions, lowers resource consumption, and promotes healthier living environments, contributing to the well-being of residents and the long-term health of our planet. Beyond the obvious, we believe that sustainable thinking not only benefits the environment but yields material economic advantages and enhanced resident experience.
Offsite Manufacturing
Spaxel leverages offsite construction infrastructure to prefabricate and assemble structural and non-structural steel wall and floor panels, as well as full offsite capabilities to prefabricate entire wall and floor assemblies including steel, exterior sheetrock sheathing, insulation, stucco (or alternative) as well as window installation. Completed panels are then shipped directly to job sites where they are installed via crane, minimizing, or in some cases, completely eliminating the need for scaffolding.

Passive House
Spaxel is building four ground-up projects to Passive House standards. Passive House is an internationally recognized standard for energy-efficient buildings that provide exceptional comfort and indoor air quality while minimizing energy consumption. Achieving this certification requires rigorous adherence to specific design and construction principles, including superior insulation, airtightness, high-performance windows, and mechanical ventilation systems, resulting in buildings that use up to 90% less energy for heating and cooling compared to conventional structures.

Sustainable Materials
Spaxel prioritizes materials with low carbon emissions, derived from renewable sources, and involves minimal resource depletion, helping us reduce the ecological and climate impact while promoting a more resilient and sustainable built environment for future generations. Additionally, sustainable materials often offer long-term cost savings, improved indoor air quality, and enhanced occupant well-being. The light gauge steel produced in our Liga Steel facility is used in all of our development projects is comprised of 80% recycled metal and we recycle all of our internally produced scrap.
